Limited transparent blue, black, and white colored vinyl LP pressing. A fully-envisioned second epistle: with an injection of acidic electric-band arrangements while simultaneously diversifying their arsenal of traditional/antediluvian instrumentation, Ghost raise their level across the board, getting heavier and higher, becoming hazier and more clear in the same instance. With aggression and meditation transforming them in equal shares, their Second Time Around was the most Ghost yet. Until the third time around!
Picked up this Second Time Around LP in the transparent blue, black, and white pressing and the look alone is a nice touch. Musically it's a real step forward for Ghost, heavier in places yet more atmospheric too, with electric arrangements sitting alongside their traditional instrumentation. The blend of aggression and quieter, meditative moments keeps it interesting across the whole record. It's not background music, so give it a proper listen. If you already enjoy their earlier work, this one is worth adding to the shelf.
