Picked this up as a Damned fan curious about their mid-90s era, and it's a genuinely interesting listen. I'm Alright Jack And The Bean Stalk definitely isn't the punk or goth sound you might expect; Vanian, Scabies and Alan Lee Shaw go for psychedelia, new wave and straight-up rock instead. The guest spots from James Taylor on organ and Glen Matlock on bass add real texture. The black vinyl pressing arrived clean and plays well. Not their most essential record, but a rewarding one for anyone who wants to hear the band stretch out.
