Picked up this Nit De Nit vinyl LP as my first Partisans record and it is a great live set. Recorded at London's Vortex Club, the hour-plus runs through back-catalogue reinventions and new tracks like Klact-Oveeseds-Tene Intro Max, That's Not His Bag, John, I'm Only Dancing, 3:15 (On The Dot), EG and Pork Scratching. Phil Robson on electric guitar, Julian Siegel on sax, Thaddeus Kelly on electric bass and Gene Calderazzo on drums all sound tight and full of energy. The pressing sounds warm and the crowd adds to the vibe. Recommended for jazz fans who like their gigs captured raw and lively.
