Mode For Titan - Vinyl LP

Mode for Titan proves that the bass is a melodic and ambient force in it's own right. Writing on and for the bass, Josh Werner explores new dimensions of composition and improvisation, and effortlessly moves through sonic textures, all without a conventional rhythm section. Producer Bill Laswell steers the seasoned composer, performer and abstract painter Werner into novel instrumental territory, including the sitar bass, seven-string and fretless bass. The record's wide array of influences reflects Werner's experience and diverse skillset, yet Mode for Titan maintains it's introspective focus and stays grounded in minimalist beauty throughout. Laswell's production endows this sonic journey with a vast sense of space, painted in a ray of colors as boundless as the producer's own palette.Werner's work with Ghostface Killah, CocoRosie, Lee Perry, Cibo Matto, Popcaan, James Brandon Lewis, Matisyahu and Tunde Adebimpe has cemented the producer and songwriter's status as a low-end heavyweight.SideATraversalThe Crossing SubversionMode For TitanQuiet Star Arcane PathSide BLight of Other SunsDanger RoadFree MatterNew CompassShip Of Theseus A Return
